Editorial policy
How the guides on this site are researched, written and corrected.
Who runs this site
Egg Cost Check is an independent project. You can reach it at hello@eggcostcheck.com. It is not owned by a feed, coop or egg brand.
Where the facts come from
- Guides summarize published guidance from university extension services, USDA and the CDC. Every guide links its sources at the bottom.
- When a source gives a number, we say which source. When sources disagree, we show the range instead of picking one.
- When we do arithmetic of our own, we label it as ours. Worked examples are labeled as examples, not averages.
- We do not claim hands-on results. We have not run a flock for these guides and we do not present opinions as tested findings.
How the guides are written
Guides are drafted with the help of an AI assistant that reads the linked pages. The site owner publishes them. We check that each claim matches the page it cites and drop claims we cannot find in a source.
Corrections
If you find a mistake, write to hello@eggcostcheck.com. We fix it and change the "Updated" date on the guide. The date does not change for edits that do not affect the facts.
Advertising and independence
There is no sponsored content on this site and no paid placement in the guides. If ads appear, they come from Google AdSense and do not influence what we write. See the privacy policy for how ads and analytics use data.
